We are experienced in writing comprehensive energy and water management plans.
In most instances, our suggestions are more economical than what a contractor will recommend. The completed proposal will include a review of the current wall, roof, floor, structural systems, the project grounds where the structure rests, and financial assessments on payback periods for upgrades and repairs. Green Building Design will as part of our service provide a report which will contain proposals based on current green building practices and utilizing proven and reliable technologies with a common sense approach. These proposals will include some or all of the following:
-
Efficient HVAC Systems
-
Products which will assist with onsite electrical energy production and or solar energy production which may include photo-voltaic products and systems and solar collection systems.
-
Energy control systems intended to reduce electricity usage.
-
Bio-green systems for roofs and terraces.
-
Potable and grey water efficient products and systems.
-
Environmentally friendly finishes to the interior and or exterior, inclusive of exterior windows and doors, (with careful consideration and a review of materials which may contain volatile organic compounds).
-
Suggestions on bio-friendly building insulation products and application techniques.
The report will contain a selection of products and systems by which costing estimates may be performed or alternative products selected. These products and systems will include technical information sheets for each product or system. The report will include information as necessary for the various consultants, contractors and sub contractors to complete their construction or tender ready documents, including vendor contact and supply information.
-
We will work with mechanical, electrical, structural, landscape and civil consultants in achieving accepted proposals from Green Building Design. this will include a review of specifications and drawings if provided by the project consultants.
-
We can prepare an energy usage and conservation report based on the proposed products and systems as selected, (in concert with a mechanical and/or electrical engineer).
-
We can prepare a cost estimate to assist with the owner in preparing construction budgets.
-
We can do all research and contact local vendors to validate the availability of products and systems locally and/or provide a list suppliers outside the state of Florida.

Most real estate transactions require a wood destroying organism (termite) inspection concurrent with the home inspection. Green Building Design will arrange for this test through a reputable, affiliate company. The home buying process can be confusing and stressful. Not only do you need to consider things such as price and location, you also have to worry about whether the house itself has any problems that could become costly surprises down the road. Green Building Design provides an unbiased, professional assessment of the condition of the house. It provides you an expert opinion and professional report on the condition of the physical structure and various systems within a house. Giving you peace of mind on what is likely the largest purchase you will ever make. In order to prepare the report, an inspector must conduct a visual inspection of the house. The inspection process typically takes about 3 hours to complete. This of course may vary, according to the size and condition of the home. We strongly encourage you to accompany the inspector during the inspection or meet with him or her after the inspection has been completed. This will give you a chance to ask questions and become familiar with the systems of the home. Armed with the information our report provides, you can make your decision with confidence.
