Our goal is to provide you with a Cost Effective means when re-mediating or starting a new project, while at the same time helping you reach your end goals. Donald Boggs is a Registered Professional Engineer in several states. Don earned a Bachelors of Architectural Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. Don also earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Florida and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Florida. Don has over 30 years’ experience as a professional engineer and over 25 years as a member of the Florida Bar.  Don is also a Six Sigma Green Belt.

After graduating from Law School, Don had the pleasure of being an adjunct professor at the University of North Florida’s Construction Management program for eight years teaching contract negotiations, project management, structural analysis, contracts, and building codes.

Don has over 32 years’ experience in the construction industry. His credits include project management, design, and contract negotiations. Don spent several years as a Structural Engineer working for a large design/build firm in Jacksonville, Florida. Don spent most of his career at JEA, Jacksonville’s municipal electric, water, & sewer utility. At JEA, Don was involved managing engineering, procurement, and construction of power plants, electric transmission and distribution projects, and water and sewer projects.  Don was also responsible for purchasing, contracts, real estate, building operations, security, fleet, and inventory and worked on special projects such as the Minority Business program. Don was very instrumental in JEA acquiring a $75 million Department of Energy grant for a new technology boiler project. Don held several positions throughout his career at JEA including Director of Engineering and Construction, Grid Projects and Vice President of Logistics.

Don’s first introduction into energy assessments was a multi-million project for the US Navy at NASJAX in 1997. Don has been a Board member of the University of North Florida Engineering Advisory Council for over twenty years and is a member of the Lee High School Engineering Academy Advisory Board. Don is a certified HERS rater and is also a member of USGBC. Don retired from JEA in 2009 when he founded Green Building Design to assist clients in becoming more sustainable in their business and personal lives.
